Quarterly Reports

Every quarter, hedge funds and institutional managers are required to disclose their portfolios to the SEC via 13F filing. These filings only detail long U.S. equity positions, American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), stock options (puts/calls), as well as convertible notes.

13F filings reveal a wealth of information that can tell you a lot about a manager.  Portfolio turnover, sector biases, value vs. growth, large cap vs. small cap—all the information is available for those willing to look.  As the industry increasingly moves towards more transparency, 13F filings have become a necessary data supplement, even for investors receiving risk reports directly from the hedge funds themselves.

In each case, we drill into these filers’ positions going back 8 quarters to give you the most comprehensive picture of what these managers have been doing and how they’re positioned going forward. Each quarter, we profile the funds of 20 popular managers.
